Dear Nick

The day was Friday 14, 2013. After spending almost 2 hours in awe not realizing what was really happening, I saw you and Thomas welcoming people for some after party at the Disney Hall. Everyone got in, Thomas too. Last chance, I play all in before it’s too late.

I couldn’t believed I just shook the hand of the man who wrote some of my favorite tracks ever, such as Master of Shadows, Fire Nation & The Cross of Antiquan. This genius who worked on Dynasty and Legend just spoke with me. How freaking cool was that.

I still remember the first time I saw the trailers for Star Trek and 2012 and learning that you were behind each score, it was always the same reaction: “Ha. Of course he did it again.”

Thomas and you have such distinctive styles, while he goes on crazy experimentations, there’s a feeling every time I listen to your work of going back to a certain world, a world I discovered back in 2008. And with every new track, you’re adding something new to it. It’s a sensation that is hard to describe but just magical every time.

Fast forward almost 10 year after LA and here we are tonight in London. I cannot express how excited I am to listening to your work live again. I’m not taking risk saying that I’ll love every second of that show.

On a more personal note, your music changed my life. It is food for creativity, I’ve developed a passion for trailers and trailer music, listening to the tracks and imagining so many epic stories for the big screen. I now peruse a career in video editing and motion design and had the chance to edit a couple of teasers for Netflix and HBO Max. What a freaking blast. I dream one day to work at big agencies like Trailer Parks or AV Squad. And that is thanks to you!

Enjoy the lucky coin and the chocolate (hope it didn’t melt). And please, never stop writing music (sincerely, everyone).

Oh and if you ever need a video, I’ll flight out to the US in a heartbeat.

Truthfully,

Your Swiss Fan
