Dear Thomas

The year was 2008. Three little letters appears on that shady forum website named ffshrine: someone that calls himself « tjb » writes about a track he made for some upcoming album. I see the rest of the thread going nuts, I decide to click on the link too.

Starvation has been on repeat on the Sony Ericsson 750i for the next 4 following weeks at least. For someone who got introduced to the world of trailer music one year earlier with X-Ray Dog and Immediate Music, this was like driving a Lamborghini Gallardo right after getting my licensed. I was going 120 mph on the highway of emotions. That was a LOT for my little brain. And every time you’re releasing new tracks, that’s the feeling I’m chasing.

Instant fan right there. Looking up your name, I realized I already had a couple of albums on my hard drive (whoopsie), Nemesis and Dynasty, I still have today the burned cds I made to listen to them on my walkman, although I’ve collecting your industrial albums since then. I keep them in a vault.

Nemesis is, for me, till today, the best album in the industry ever made. It was so ahead of its time, even now, others can’t compete with it. But Illusions, is (I think) by far, the pinnacle of your work. Every. Single. Track. Is perfection. Like, wtf? I keep re-listening to it, trying to isolate every layers, every sound. It is the perfect elevated trailer music. I get the same feeling as rewatching the LOTR: every listening session is a journey.

On a more personal note, your music changed my life. It is food for creativity, I’ve developed a passion for trailers and trailer music, listening to the tracks and imagining so many epic stories for the big screen. I now peruse a career in video editing and motion design and had the chance to edit a couple of teasers for Netflix and HBO Max. What a freaking blast. I dream one day to work at big agencies like Trailer Parks or AV Squad. And that is thanks to you!

Writing those few lines can only give a glimpse of how much I admire you and your talent. I feel extremely lucky to have discovered your work. I went to and loved your concert in LA in 2013 and I know this tour will be as epic as it should be.

Enjoy the lucky coin and the chocolate (hope it didn’t melt). And please, never stop writing music (sincerely, everyone).

Oh and if you ever need a video, I’ll flight out to the US in a heartbeat.

Truthfully,

Your Swiss Fan

It was probably the worst kebab in my life. And yet, I’d go back without hesitation if I had to do it all over again.
